A clean box can begin another story as a bus, a house or a tiny library. Gather staple-free cardboard, paper tape and large decorating pieces, keeping cutting tools with the adult. Put the box in the center and ask what the imagined place will need. Turn it to examine each face and opening before choosing a design. The same shape may suggest different ideas when its position changes. Draw two possibilities, then let the group decide which one to test first with the available materials.
Build a model before attaching every part. Two walls might stand on folded bases, while a roof may need wider supports. If something falls, notice where it tilted and offer a cardboard strip for testing a brace. The adult makes difficult cuts along the agreed marks. Compare the first attempt with the next and ask what changed. A balance problem becomes a design decision children can explain with the structure in front of them, making the repair as interesting as the original plan.
Use caja / box, construir / build and reutilizar / reuse during construction. Younger children can choose a door piece or point to a place for a window. Older children can draw a simple plan and check whether an object fits inside. Test the entrance with a paper character before decorating it. A specific request, such as needing a longer strip, can be spoken, drawn or shown using the piece that falls short. The shared project gives that communication an immediate purpose and a visible result.
Once the construction is ready, explain its purpose and one change that helped it work. Add a name sign and create a play scene to launch its new life. Sort usable leftovers into a tray and discuss what they might become; keeping everything without a plan can make later building harder. Decide which pieces stay in the workshop and which belong in the appropriate recycling collection. Caring for materials means transforming them and maintaining a space where useful pieces can be found again.
